Are UK Male Celebrities Seeking Cosmetic Surgery Due To Peer Pressure?

Why are more male UK celebs opting for Cosmetic Surgery?

Robbie Willams, former “Take That” star confessed to having hair transplant surgery, while talking about living in the USA during an interview with Graham Norton on his show.

The star he quoted “I’ve lived in LA for a long time and they say, ‘If you sit in a barber’s shop for long enough you will get a haircut,'” said Robbie. “Well, if you live in Los Angeles for long enough you’re going to get some surgery.”

In the USA, this view to Plastic Surgery for men is quite typical, whilst in the UK Plastic Surgery for males is still in a relatively small proportion.  According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), cosmetic surgery for men totalled only 10% of the procedures performed in the UK.

According to Babble, actress Emma Thompson and comedian Jimmy Carr were reported to have been shocked by the admission that Robbie Williams had undergone surgery, as he currently has a full head of hair with a white streak, but apparently had trouble with thinning or receding strands.

Other male celebs who are rumoured to have undergone cosmetic surgery procedures are Louis Walsh from the “X Factor” and football star, Wayne Rooney, who have¬†also been reported to have had hair transplants. Other “surgically enhanced” male TV stars are Gordon Ramsey, who apparently had male cosmetic chin surgery.

The latest statistics reveal that there is another 7% rise in the number of males opting for cosmetic surgery in the UK. Perhaps male celebrities in particular feel the necessity to retain their youth and their looks for longer, as they are in an industry where appearance really does count.

Liverpool Cosmetic Clinic has advice on a wide range of cosmetic surgery for men, along with male cosmetic treatments.
