Dermal Filler Injections

Reasons for Dermal Filler Treatment

You may be seeking a more youthful appearance by treating lines and wrinkles to the face caused by the ageing process caused by loss of volume and sagging, due the effect of gravity. Hormones, sun exposure, smoking, lifestyle and stress influence the rate at which we appear to age, with hyaluronic acid (HA) decreasing from our skin. The HA content of our skin is important for water retention as our sebaceous glands which produce oil become less active and the skin becomes dryer. The skin may lose its youthful glow, therefore dermal filler injections can be an effective treatment in diminishing signs of ageing and rehydrating the skin by replacing lost volume. Dermal filler is suitable for the deep wrinkles between the nose and mouth, providing volume to the cheeks, enhancing lip volume or redefine lip shape, smokers lines around the mouth and the under eye tear trough area. The treatment is quick and the results are immediate, helping to enhance self-esteem and confidence.

Dermal Filler Treatment

The treatment consists of injections containing hyaluronic acid (ie: Juvederm & Restylane), which naturally occurs in the skin. Dermal fillers are not permanent and there may be some redness, swelling or slight bruising around the site of the injection, which normally subsides within a few days.

At Liverpool Cosmetic and Aesthetic Clinic, our highly trained Doctors and Cosmetic Surgeons take time to understand the requirements of our patients and provide expert advice on dermal filler treatments.

What results can be expected?

The dermal filler treatment normally takes between 30-60 minutes and your Practitioner will use local anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to treatment. The effect from dermal filler treatment is visible immediately and we provide the following areas of treatments:

  • Smile line dermal filler
  • Tear trough dermal filler
  • Lip filler enhancement
  • Cheek enhancement dermal filler

How long does the tear trough filler treatment last?

The dermal filler lasts between 6-12 months as the product gradually and naturally decreases. You may opt to have another treatment when you notice that the volume to the injected area is no longer noticeable. There is virtually no recommended recovery time for this non-surgical procedure and you may be given some post treatment instructions to follow.
