Dermal Filler Treatment in Merseyside and Cheshire
What are the reasons for treatment?
You may be seeking a more youthful appearance and wish to treat the lines and wrinkles to the face caused by the ageing process, from loss of volume or from sagging, due the effect of gravity. Hormones, sun exposure, smoking, lifestyle and stress can all influence the rate at which we appear to age, with hyaluronic acid (HA) decreasing from our skin. The hyaluronic acid content of our skin is important for water retention and as our sebaceous glands which produce oil become less active, the skin becomes dryer. The skin may therefore lose its youthful glow and colour. Due to the loss of fat, volume may be reduced in areas of the face. Dermal filler treatment can be an effective method as it diminishes the signs of ageing and rehydrates the skin tissue. Dermal filler injections are suitable for the fine lines at the corners of the eye, the deep wrinkles between the nose and mouth, to provide volume to the cheeks, to enhance lip volume or redefine lip shape. The treatment is quick and the results can be observed immediately, thus helping to enhance self-esteem and confidence.
What does the treatment involve?
Dermal filler injections are normally performed using products containing hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in the skin. The treatment is not permanent and the body breaks down the substance over a period of time, which can vary on an individual basis. Following the injection there may be some redness, swelling or slight bruising around the site of the injection, which normally subsides within a few days.
The effect from dermal filler treatment is visible immediately and the results normally last between 6-12 months. The product gradually and naturally decreases and you may opt to have another treatment when you notice that the volume to the injected area is no longer noticeable. There is virtually no recommended recovery time for this non surgical procedure, and you may be given some post treatment instructions to follow.
