Dermal fillers can be used for a variety of treatments, as dermal fillers can be used in many parts of the face, to lift and reshape features as well as smoothing out lines and wrinkles. Here at Liverpool Cosmetic Clinic, we use Juvederm which is one of the best quality products available on the market and can be used for a range of different treatments including lip fillers and cheek fillers. The Juvederm used in dermal filler injections provides patients with long-lasting results and assists in regaining lost volume to the skin.
If you are seeking a more youthful appearance, then dermal fillers can provide you with the perfect solution to combat signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are an effective way of treating lines and wrinkles to the face caused by the ageing process, resulting in loss of volume and sagging due to the effect of gravity. Factors such as hormones, sun exposure, smoking, lifestyle and stress can all influence the rate at which we appear to age, with hyaluronic acid (HA) decreasing from our skin. The HA content of our skin is important in terms of water retention as our sebaceous glands which produce oil becomes less active and dries out the skin.
As we age, the Hyaluronic Acid levels in our bodies naturally decrease which results in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some lines progress to wrinkles due to lifestyle choices and outside factors such as diet, sun exposure and years of expressive facial muscle movement. Other factors can include significant weight loss and fat loss which may have created sagging, which turns any lines that may be present in facial folds.
Over time the skin may lose its youthful glow, therefore choosing dermal filler injections can be a very effective treatment in diminishing signs of ageing and rehydrating the skin by replacing lost volume, hence restoring the skins youthful appearance.
Products such as Juvederm and Restylane used within dermal filler injections are suitable for treating the deep wrinkles between the nose and mouth and helping to provide volume to the cheeks with the use of cheek fillers. They can also enhance lip volume or redefine lip shape through the use of lip fillers and treat smoker’s lines around the mouth and the under-eye tear trough area. The treatment is quick and the results are immediate, helping to provide you with boosted self-esteem and confidence in your appearance which can have a dramatic improvement in your mental health. Dermal fillers can be used to treat a range of patients concerns such as deeper wrinkles and folds, lack or loss of volume. When administered by one of our highly trained medical professionals, the dermal filler injections can help in treating any smiles lines, fine lip lines, marionette lines (nose to mouth) and chin, enhancing features and restoring youthful looking skin.
The treatment consists of injections containing hyaluronic acid (ie: Juvederm & Restylane), which naturally occurs in the skin. Dermal fillers are not to be mistaken as a permanent solution, as the results from the treatment will begin to fade away over time. After the dermal filler has been administered there may be some side effects such as redness, swelling or slight bruising around the site of the injection, which normally subsides within a few days.
At Liverpool Cosmetic and Aesthetic Clinic, our highly trained Doctors and Cosmetic Surgeons take time to understand the requirements of our patients and provide expert advice on dermal filler treatments. All the benefits, risks and your expectations of the procedure will be discussed further and explained thoroughly during your consultation with a fully registered Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
Dermal filler facial profiling techniques are used to rebalance facial features through the use of lip fillers, cheek fillers and face fillers. This is involved for a variety of different patient requests which includes cheek enhancement, chin augmentation, nose shaping and lip plumping and shaping.
The dermal filler treatment consists of injecting specially developed solution such as Juvederm and Restylane under the skin using an injection technique to treat fine lines, fill deeper grooves and plump out skin to add volume.
Dermal fillers are temporary hyaluronic acid facial fillers, which provide long-lasting results and helps patients achieve a fuller, more youthful appearance. Younger skin naturally contains moisturiser from within by Hyaluronic Acid, a protein found between the cells of all living organisms (a component of Collagen). Hyaluronic acid helps absorb moisture and keeps your skin staying hydrated, which helps with maintaining a youthful look, hence injecting dermal filler into the skin improves skin quality and adds any loss or lack of volume.
Hyaluronic Acid levels naturally decrease as you age resulting in the appearance of fine line and wrinkles. Some lines become wrinkles due to outside factors like sun exposure, diet and years of facial muscle movement, as well as weight loss which can create sagging which turns lines into facial folds.
Results from the treatment are visible immediately after the dermal filler has been administered to provide the patient with natural, long-lasting results. Our expert doctors using the dermal filler product as an aesthetic tool to shape, sculpt and to volumize the face using non-surgical techniques, to deliver naturally enhanced results.
The dermal fillers mimic the lifting effect of your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid, helping to keep the skin more hydrated and improving the overall elasticity.
The dermal filler treatment normally takes between 30-60 minutes and your Practitioner will use local anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to the treatment. The effect of the dermal filler treatment is visible immediately and we provide the following areas of treatments:
The dermal filler lasts between 6-12 months as the product will gradually and naturally decrease, this applies to all forms of treatment including lip, cheek and face fillers. You may opt to have another dermal filler treatment when you notice that the volume to the injected area is no longer noticeable. There is virtually no recommended recovery time for this non-surgical procedure and you may be given some post-treatment instructions to follow.
Is dermal filler treatment safe?
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm are non-permanent FDA approved gel products made from hyaluronic acid and have a proven safety record, when performed by experienced and fully trained clinical practitioners. Juvederm and Restylane can be dissolved using an enzyme called Hyaluronic acid, which breaks down the product. Dermal fillers are minimally invasive and they are used to add volume to the skin, improve skin quality and add moisture. Dermal fillers have become a leading cosmetic aesthetic UK treatment. Do filler injections hurt?
Filler injections are performed using a very fine needle and are relatively painless, with any slight discomfort lasting for approximately 30 minutes. A typical treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes to perform with no down time required and you are able to drive following treatment.
How long do the effects of dermal fillers last?
The results of treatment are visible following treatment; however, the final results can take approximately 2 weeks to settle. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm typically last 9-12 months, with some patients experiencing longer lasting effects for up to 18 months. Most patients opt for a further treatment once lines/wrinkles reappear or they notice loss of volume to the treated area. Studies suggest that Juvederm enhances the production of collagen production to the skin.
Are there any side effects following treatment?
It is important that you select a highly trained medical aesthetic practitioner to perform your dermal filler treatment. Most patients only experience mild local pain with swelling and the chance of slight bruising at the injection site, which usually subsides within several days. During your full consultation, any medication or health conditions will be assessed to minimise the chance of any reaction.
How long is recommended between treatments?
We advise that an interval of 6 months is left between each dermal filler treatment. To achieve a natural-looking result with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, it is important to follow a detailed treatment plan created for your individual needs. Selecting a skilled practitioner should ensure that they have the required training to consider the face as a whole when formulating a plan.
