Liverpool Dermal Fillers Information
Are Liverpool dermal fillers safe for you?
Dermal fillers are non-permanent FDA approved products such as Juvederm, made from gel hyaluronic acid and have a proven safety record. It is extremely important to select an experienced and fully trained clinical practitioner for your Liverpool dermal fillers. We receive enquiries from patients who have unsatisfactory results from treatments elsewhere, therefore in some cases dermal fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called Hyaluronic acid, which breaks down the product. Dermal fillers are non-surgical, minimally invasive and they are effective to add volume to the skin, improve skin quality and increase moisture. Dermal fillers have become a leading Liverpool aesthetic and UK treatment.
Do dermal filler injections hurt?
Dermal fillers are performed using a fine needle and any slight discomfort lasts for approximately 30 minutes. A typical dermal filler treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes to perform, with no down time required and you are able to drive following treatment. The dermal fillers products also contain local anaesthetic and in some cases, anaesthetic cream is used to numb the area of skin prior to treatment.
How long do the effects of dermal filler treatments last?
The results of treatment are immediately visible following treatment; however, the final results can take approximately 2 weeks to settle. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm typically last for 12 months, however some patients experience longer lasting results, in some cases for up to 18 months. Most patients opt for a further dermal filler treatment once lines/wrinkles reappear or they notice loss of volume to the treated area. Studies suggest that Juvederm may enhance collagen production to the skin.
Can you expect any side effects following treatment?
Most patients only experience mild local pain with inital swelling and the chance of slight bruising at the treatment site, which usually settles within several days. During your full consultation, any medication or health conditions will be assessed to minimise the chance of any reaction. It is therefore extremely important that you select a highly trained medical aesthetic practitioner to perform your Liverpool dermal filler treatment.
How long is recommended between your treatments?
We recommend that an interval of 6 months is left between each dermal filler treatment. To achieve a natural-looking result with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, it is important to follow a detailed treatment plan created for your individual needs. Selecting a highly experienced clinical practitioner should ensure that they have the required training to consider the face as a whole when formulating a plan.
Dermal filler post treatment aftercare:
- Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours post treatment
- No strenuous exercise for 24 hours following dermal filler treatment.
- Remain from lying directly on the treated area
- Do not have alcohol or blood thinning medication 2 days prior to or after treatment
