Deciding to have rhinoplasty surgery, commonly known as nose job surgery is a big decision and we have local, Consultant Plastic Surgeons in Chester, Cheshire to help you make the right choice for you. The results from nose reshaping and nose reduction surgery can be life changing for enhancing confidence. The procedure involves refining the overall profile, the tip or bridge of the nose.

- Increase or reduction of the size of the nose
- Altering the shape of the tip of the nose, the bridge and the nostrils
- Altering the angle between the nose and the upper lip

Will I have scars following my operation?
Incisions are usually made inside the nostrils during rhinoplasty however during an open rhinoplasty procedure, the Plastic Surgeon may place the incision in the skin between the nostrils. It is sometimes also necessary to make small incisions at either side of the nostrils, which should leave very fine post operative scars.
How will I feel following the rhinoplasty surgery?
You will experience bruising and swelling, particularly around the eyes, which should improve over two to four weeks. Your nose will initially feel stiff and numb, which should gradually ease over approximately two months following your nose reshaping procedure. Following your operation, you may have packing dressings placed inside the nostrils plus a protective splint, for approximately one week. Most closed rhinoplasty procedures take approximately two weeks to settle down, however for an open rhinoplasty, if your nose is broken, there is likely be increased bruising around the eyes and for a longer time of roughly four to six weeks.

Your Plastic Surgeon may recommend resuming driving approximately ten days after surgery has been performed, to assist with recovery.
