Tear Trough filler treatment information

What is the Tear Trough area?

The space between the lower eyelid and upper cheek is referred to as the Tear Trough area, but as part of the ageing process, a change in appearance occurs – becoming longer, deeper and more darkened. This is a normal part of ageing, however this may give the impression of looking tired more often, therefore appearing less youthful.

How is the Tear Trough area treated?

Treatment to the Tear Trough area is delivered with dermal fillers such as Juvederm, for a soft and natural correction. The aim of the treatment is to dramatically reduce the appearance of the dark hollow under eye area by introducing volume from the product to plump out the area.

How long does the Tear Trough treatment take?

The Tear Trough dermal filler treatment normally takes approximately 45-60 minutes, with your Advanced Aesthetic Practitioner using local anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to treatment.

Is any downtime required after Tear Trough fillers?

There is no downtime, you can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities, however the area may be swollen and bruised for up to 1 week post treatment.

Who should perform Tear Trough treatment?

Only a Cosmetic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon should perform Tear Trough dermal filler injections, as this requires a doctor with advanced aesthetic experience to minimise risks.
