What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin is a product used to make the drug Botox, which originates from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles.
The injections are relatively painless, there is no down time and after 24-72 hours, the product starts to work. The optimum result can be observed at approximately 2 weeks post treatment, and the Botox helps to achieve a refreshed and smoother effect to the skin and treated areas.
Who should not have Botox?
Botulinum Toxin should not be used in pregnant or lactating women, as well as people who have had a previous allergic reaction to the drug or any of its ingredients.
